chileimagecrop466

The Chile Kingston Design project, started in 2013, is a collaboration between the Design School, Kingston University and five Chilean universities to strengthen the links between Chilean and British design. In April 2015 the next stage is a research visit in Chile funded by Santander Bank and Fondart, undertaken with the School of Design team and two staff from the Universidad de Valparaiso to gather research data in four industrial sites about the use of raw materials. In each of the sites they will be hosted and will be collaborating with the University of each city.

The universities are: Universidad de Antofagasta, Universidad de la Serena, Universidad Católica de Temuco and Universidad de Bío Bío with a final workshop in the Universidad de Valpaiso.

The output of the first phase will be a research based online platform and the development of a design brief for Chilean and British students and staff.
