Elinor graduated from St Martin's School of Art with an MA in Fashion. After 15 years working in the fashion industry, including launching her own label, she began her career in higher education in Melbourne, Australia. On returning to the UK she was a part-time lecturer at Machester Metropolitan University. She later became a senior lecturer and then course leader at Ravensbourne College of Design and Communication. She then moved on to become Course Director of the BA (Hons) Fashion course at Kingston University, raising the profile of the department and securing international sponsorship internships and graduate destinations for this award-winning course. Elinor validated the new MA Fashion course after directing the MA Fashion for Industry for two years.

She is currently an external examiner for the BA Fashion & Textiles course at University of West England, Bristol, and the PG Certificate in Creative Pattern Cutting at Central St Martins College of Art. She is also now a consultant with Arts Thread Recruitment in London, and has just co-authored a fashion text book for AVA Publishing. She is also on the British Fashion Council Colleges Steering Committee.
