WGSN’s mega trend
I tried to research WGSN’s mega trends for the next season to see if I was in the right way with what I am developing so far. The “Industrial Evolution” trend was the one in which I got most similarities with and here are some slides for future reference and inspiration from there.
Moodboards
I have decided to create some moodboards to go with my 3D print in textile concept so far. They will be part of my final hand out this coming Thursday.
Extra research
So, with the week of wait I had while my fractals were being 3D printed I have decided to come up with an extra research on how I could possibly apply them into different fields, not just fashion, and the presentation below showcases some of the main ideas.
3D prints and their first models
Fractal 1 fractal 2 fractal 3 fractal 4 fractal 5
All these lovely examples were fractals that will be 3D printed soon for my textile experiments, I truly cannot wait for the final results!
Final product
We still need a name for the exhibition for tomorrow but I think something as “changing perceptions: the table experiment” or something related should be good. Some people are going for ideas such as “the world is not plain” and I personally think it’s a bit weak. Hopefully we can tweak our final result into something that doesn’t show all our hiccups during the meetings process. It’s very hard to work with people from different countries, languages and backgrounds and I truly regret not stepping up more and trying to convince the group into something with a different approach. I am getting very worried about what this exhibition will finally be and how it will affect my grading. I know in life we always end up doing some group work one way or the other, especially in our fields, but boy, how hard it is to communicate and make yourself being heard.
Fingers crossed now.
