being human | observation

Everything started with observation. Watching people at railway stations, on the trains, on the tube, in parks, cafés, street corners. Just watching people. Eventually I started focusing on how people take their own space in public, for example by reserving the seat next to them with their bag or by spreading their belongings in a café. But where is the limit when bringing your personal space to public? How do we know how to behave? There are certain rules, norms, that we follow when in public, and we learn them by watching others. We know what is acceptable, normal behaviour and what is concidered weird and abnormal. So when somebody crosses that line it causes confusion: what’s going on? That somebody has become abnormal.
But what is normal?
