Living Manifesto

  • We feel passionate about Design that provokes debate; when it encourages critical engagement, but not when it is offensive simply to attract attention.
  • We feel passionate about Design that is out of context; when it encourages a new perspectives but not when it is inappropriate.
  • We feel passionate about Design that imitates; when it is inspired by both man-made and natural design, but not when it devalues something.
  • We feel passionate about Design that is amateur; when it is ‘design by passion’, but not when it compromises the purpose and is not aesthetic.
  • We feel passionate about Design that is familiar; when it relates to humans and enables instinctive interaction, but not when we want to challenge ourselves.
  • We feel passionate about Design that has unexpected surprises; when it adds perceived value to something, but not when it is an unpleasant surprise.
  • We feel passionate about Design that makes assumptions; when is understands human qualities and feels personal, but not when it expects too much prior knowledge or skill.
  • We feel passionate about Design that is simple; when stripped of unnecessary elements, but not when it makes something incomprehensible.
  • We feel passionate about Design that breaks rules; both when we know what the rules are and when we don’t.
  • We feel passionate about Design that does not assume it is the final solution.
