An exciting development for September 2012
The FdA Graphic Communications degree will be transforming. We are about to become an HND/HNC in Graphic Design. This will continue the excellent work of the FdA in turning out designers who are ready to meet the challenging demands of Industry.
This course is for anyone interested in developing their design skills, and will help you to gain the theoretical, analytical, creative and technical skills needed to create a professional portfolio It is an equivalent level to the FdA and so there is an opportunity at the end of the second year, to apply for a top up third year on an appropriate BA (Hons) degree course.
You will take core units in Visual Communication, Idea generation and development, Contextual and Cultural referencing, Professional practice, and Project design, implementation and evaluation. These will be enhanced by units in Advanced typography, Digital media, Packaging, Advertising, Editorial design, Fashion photography, Visual and personal presentation, and Communication with images.
This is not a definitive list as there are optional and extra units.
