Irisnation visit

Our trip to Irisnation was a great success today. What a fantastic place to work. Andy showed us round, and their newest Creative team answered all of our questions and gave valuable advice to the students. We watched a showreel of work and this is one of my favourite ads. It’s for Volkswagon and demonstrates how tough and strong their Amarok vehicle is. It’s based on the idea of the 1 inch punch, and the force of acceleration over a short distance is enough to bring this huge chimney crashing down. Can you imagine brainstorming the maddest ideas, and then being allowed to make them real?

D&AD tomorrow!

Our level five students are currently getting ready for their Degree Show, and straight after they launch into D&AD New Blood.

New Blood presents the  very best new talent from graduates in graphic design, visual communication, advertising, digital media, illustration, photography and other commercial creative arts. This international Festival of industry-led activity prepares students and graduates to enter the world of work.

We have three days up in Spitalfields, not only putting up our exhibition, but participating in workshops, networking, and having a good look at the competition.

Show preparation

We spent all of Friday getting the first of three exhibitions ready. It’ll be tight as D&AD is the day after this one comes down, and the last show is on the same day as D&AD!

The Private View is this Saturday 16th at Kingston University, Knights Park, room 321a.

misspelling and dodgy punctuation

According to research, one single spelling mistake can turn 50% of your audience off.

That’s a very good case for checking again and again, and ask a fresh pair of eyes-it’s sometimes easy to miss our own mistakes.
